All tutors are experienced professional musicians with a wealth of performing and teaching experience. Visiting tutors are internationally renowned professional musicians, producers with substantial music industry experience. All tutors are CRB checked.

Michael is a professional drummer, jazz pianist, composer, freelance producer and teacher. He lectures in music and music technology in London and is an internationally renowned electro-acoustic composer in his own right.
Having gained his degree in music and music technology at Dartington College of Arts, Michael went on to City University, London, where he gained MA in electro-acoustic composition.  
Michael’s performing experience as a professional drummer includes playing at Glastonbury and The Montreaux Jazz Festival with London Elektricity and The O2 Wireless Festival last year in Hyde Park.

Russell Carr is an incredibly versatile bassist with over ten years experience in the music industry. He has worked with
musicians and producers as diverse as Mark Richardson (Feeder, Skunk Anansie) and Dean James (Duran Duran, Sugarbabes). He has performed at many of the UK’s leading live venues including Wembley Arena, Shepherd’s
Bush Empire, the Forum and the Millennium Centre, as well as performing on television on shows such as the Pepsi Chart Show. He currently plays bass in the hotly-tipped British rock act, “Who Ate Kate”. Russell has a wealth of teaching experience, having previously taught at the Academy of Contemporary Music and he currently teaches at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music.

Christian is a guitarist and composer for film and television. He has played guitar for rock and heavy metal bands as well as session playing for television adverts, bands and theatre. He has toured the UK and Europe as a session player and as a guitarist in a number of bands.
Christian is currently co-writing songs for Julienne Irwin (4th on America’s Got Talent 2007), playing session guitar for Ashtech and session playing for Charlotte Kelly (Soul II Soul) as well as his own project Suckerpunch.
In addition to this, he has worked with the BBC Concert Orchestra and has composed film scores to several short films and one feature length film. He also works as a string/orchestral arranger for UK bands/artists.
Christian teaches Electric Guitar for Richmond Music Trust as a Peripatetic tutor and has a 100% exam pass rate. He has also lectured music to A level standard for Access to Music.
